Izabelle “Izzy” French is a transfeminine improviser, musician, and researcher based in Boorloo. Her work is varied in media and approach, but typically explores the outer bounds of game and play within musical performance. Izzy is a fixture of the local experimental music scene, performing at Outcome Unknown, Heart of Darkness, and Noizemaschin!!, as well as co-producing experimental music festival WWIM. She has been involved with companies such as Tura New Music, STRUT Dance, and the Fremantle Biennale, she is currently undertaking a PhD at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and periodically releases her own music with local record label Burnt Seed Records under the pseudonym “onetwotwofour”.
